The Surgical Intensive Series forms the core teaching component of each Squirrels Quarterly Meet — a structured, six-hour hybrid learning experience built around a specific surgical theme.

Rather than providing a broad overview, each Intensive takes a deep dive into a curated set of important paediatric surgical procedures, exploring operative techniques, ergonomics, decision-making, troubleshooting, and the finer surgical nuances that often distinguish a technically correct procedure from a truly well-executed one.

Faculty pairings are selected procedure by procedure, enabling focused, case-based teaching and allowing participants to learn directly from faculty with experience in the specific surgical area. Each topic is followed by an interactive Q&A session, encouraging discussion, clarification of surgical concepts, and exchange of practical insights.
